Lahore: LHC orders police to arrest visa scandal accused
LAHORE: Lahore High Court’s Justice SayyedMazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi on Monday ordered the city police to arrest Asim Malik, the chief executive of a visa consultant company, Future Concern, and produce him on September 24. The judge on September 13 had issued the arrest warrants for Asim Malik. Asim Malik is accused of defrauding public at large. The petitioner alleged that they had given money to Malik’s company for going abroad but they had neither been sent abroad nor received their money back.
Lahore DIG (operations) appeared in court and said that the accused had not been arrested yet, adding that a police team had been constituted and was conducting raids for Malik’s arrest.
Malik’s counsel said he could not appear in court as he was busy appearing before the Supreme Court in Islamabad, where he had challenged the warrants issued by the LHC. The judge ordered Malik’s arrest by September 24, provided the SC did not give him any relief.
