Peshawar: Policeman, accomplice held for robbery
PESHAWAR: A policeman and his accomplice allegedly robbed a tribesman from Khyber Agency of Rs1.5 million. However, the culprits were arrested and the looted amount recovered. One Saddam Khan hailing from Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency told the police that he had sold his plot for Rs1.5 million and was taking the amount to a friend in Sarband when intercepted by two persons on a motorbike. Saddam said one of the riders was wearing police uniform while another was in civvies. He said the two snatched the money from him at gunpoint and fled away on the Ring Road. Saddam, however, noted the number plate of the motorbike and reported it to the Bhanamari Police Station.
The police later found out the motorbike was that of Nadir, a constable of the Shah Qabool Police Station. The cops also arrested his accomplice Zarshad and recovered the money. The two were arrested and a case was registered against them.
