Islamabad: Police resolve 343 theft cases this year
ISLAMABAD: Expediting efforts to trace theft cases, Islamabad Police recovered stolen items worth Rs 133.2 million during current year after resolving 343 cases successfully. According to a press note issued from office of Senior Superintendent of Islamabad police on Sunday, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan directed heads of all police circles to accelerate efforts in tracing the theft as well as burglary cases and provide maximum relief to citizens by resolving their problems.
In compliance of these directions, heads of all police stations gave special directions to Investigation Officers of various cases to make renewed efforts. During this year, a total of 343 theft cases were resolved and hundreds theft accused were arrested besides a total recovery of worth Rs 133,236,000 from them. City Zone police arrested a total of 133 theft accused and 75 cases were resolved along with recovery worth Rs. 46,52,000. Similarly, Saddar Zone resolved 136 theft cases and arrested 213 thieves besides recovering stolen items worth Rs. 9,78,77,000 from them.
Likewise, Industrial area police successfully completed investigation on 57 cases and arrested 93 thieves besides recovering stolen items worth Rs. 1,57,39,000 from them. Rural Zone Circle 75 cases and arrested 134 thieves along with recovery of 14968,000 from them. IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq has said that providing relief to citizens is the responsibility of police and every possible effort should be made to provide protection to the lives and property of citizens as well as resolving their complaints on immediate basis.
