Karachi: 2 get 3-year imprisonment in attempted murder case
KARACHI: A session court Wednesday sentenced two men for three years imprisonment in an attempted murder case. The court found Ahmed Zaib and Rehmat Ali guilty of trying to kill a man, Gul Muhammad, in August 2012 within the remits of STIE-A police station. Senior Civil Judge (West) Syed Khalil Ahmed Anwar HusssainJafri also imposed a fine of Rs10,000 to each and in case of default the convicts will have to undergo additional 10–day imprisonment. The court ruled that the accused were entitled to the benefit of Section 382-B (period of detention to be considered while awarding sentence of imprisonment) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The convicts were sent back to prison to serve out the remaining sentence. According to the prosecution, on August 8, 2010 the accused stabbed Gul Muhammad when he demanded of them to return back his money, which he lent them for business. A case (FIR 703/10) was registered with SITE–A police station against the accused under Section 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
