Narcotics smuggling bid foiled in Lakki
LAKKI MARWAT: The local police foiled a bid to smuggle a huge quantity of narcotics to Sindh and arrested two alleged drug smugglers on Wednesday. “After receiving information about the possible attempt of narcotics smuggling, DPO Idrees Khan ordered ensuring strict checking of suspected vehicles on Bannu–DI Khan road,” said an official. He said that a police party of ShaheedHaibat Ali Khan police station of DarraPezu town, headed by SHO Mashal Khan, intercepted a suspected motorcar (ALW–760) on Wanda Banochi check post for search. He said that the law enforcers recovered six–kg hashish, six–kg opium and 150 grams heroin from the hidden cavities of the vehicle.
“The arrested drug smugglers included Abdul Latif and Abdul Rauf residents of LakkiMarwat”, he said adding the narcotics were reportedly being smuggled to Sindh from tribal area. “The police impounded the car and registered a case against the arrested accused persons under relevant section of law”, he added.
