Islamabad: Teenager stabbed to death
ISLAMABAD: A teenager was killed over a petty issue while a woman died in a road accident, police said here on Tuesday. Hashmat Haideri, a student of class 10, was stabbed to death by his neighbour, a first–year student, at Mohallah Chowk in Bari Imam. The police said the victim and the killer scuffled over a petty issue twice, however, the dispute between them was settled by their elders. Later Hashmat was intercepted by D.A.K. when he and his friend were crossing his house. Both quarreled again, and during the fight the accused brought a knife from his house and attacked him. Although the victim’s friend tried to settle the issue but Haideri was stabbed in the heart. The accused escaped from the scene. Hashmat was shifted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
After registration of the case the police arrested the accused, who, during interrogation, claimed that he had no intention to kill the victim. The police quoted the accused as saying that he attacked the victim just to scare him.
In another incident a woman was killed after being hit by a speeding bus on I.J. Principal Road. The victim suffered multiple injuries and later died in the hospital.
