Kanganpur: Dacoits sweep house
KANGANPUR: Eight unidentified dacoits took away gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Rs2.2 million in a daylight robbery here the other day. According to details, a gang of eight dacoits entered the house of Dubai–returned Haji Mushtaq near Masjid-e–Bilal in Kot Bismillah in the remit of Kanganpur Police in the noon. The culprits held Haji Mushtaq, her daughter and two labourers on hostage. They tortured Haji and her daughter severely. Meanwhile nephew of Haji Mushtaq, Murtaza also came home from bank with Rs150,000. The dacoits snatched the money from him, collected 3 LCDs, Rs86,000, gold ornamented worth Rs1.1 million, clothes worth Rs2,25,000,three costly cellphones, three wrist watches and electronic items.
They locked the family members in a room and fled away in a white coloured car (LXI-8661). On information, DSP Rana Azam reached the spot in the company of a police contingent. The police have registered a case against unknown culprits.
