Karachi: LEAs nab dozens of accused, recover abducted girl
KARACHI: Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) chief Ahmed Chinoy and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police East Shahid Hayat on Saturday claimed to have nabbed three accused from Korangi area and recovered 97 laptops and 22 LCDs from their possession. Addressing a joint press conference at DIG East office, they informed the media that laptops and LCDs were looted last month from Jail Chowrangi. According to initial investigations, accused were employees of a local factory, from where they were sacked a couple of months ago, which became the motive behind crime. To take revenge, they looted company’s truck. Further probes were under way, they said. Separately, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) claimed to have apprehend over two dozens of accused in a targeted operation in various areas of the metropolis.
A heavy contingent of LEAs personal conducted a targeted raid in Shah Faisal Colony, Sadat Colony, Natha Khan Goth, Shah Baig Lane, Aath Chowk, Khada Market, Singho Lane, Moosa Colony and Ayub Goth. During the operation, LEAs recovered weapons, including three hand grenades, and a heavy cache of drugs from the possessions of accused. Identities of suspects could not be disclosed yet. Further investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, Pirabad police claimed to have recovered an abducted teenage girl form Banaras area. SHO Ashfaq Baloch said that police conducted a raid at a house in Banaras area and recovered 13-year-old Hassan Bibi, daughter of Sabir, who was kidnapped on September 27 form Metroville area.
