Kasur: Kidnappers kill child despite receiving ransom
KASUR: An eight-year-old child was killed by kidnappers despite receiving Rs 200,000 ransom from his family here. Ali Sher went to the shop of his relative Muhammad Azam to buy goods on September 27 but did not return. Next day, Ali Sher’s father Hidayat Ali received a call and the kidnappers demanded the ransom for his release. The family delivered the ransom to the kidnappers at the fixed point and asked for the boy but the accused remained silent. Later, Hidayat Ali identified the voice of one of the kidnappers and informed police. On information, police arrested Muhammad Azad.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing the abductee. On his pointation, police recovered the body of the abductee from the corn fields. Further investigations are under way. Meanwhile, hundreds of people attended his funeral prayers. He was laid to rest in a graveyard at Sarai Mughal.
