Lalamusa: Murder of a woman during dacoity
LALAMUSA: The police have declared the killing of a woman during dacoity a simple murder case. Shamim Bibi, 50, was strangled to death on the second floor of her three–storey house at Mohallah Karimpura on Thursday. She was also deprived of her gold ornaments, including earrings, rings and a locket chain. The dacoits had also tortured her and thrown chillies in her eyes. The City police registered a murder case against unknown accused on the report of deceased’s brother Iftikhar Ahmad Javed, a resident of Gujrat’s Mohallah Rangpura. Her sons Abid and Amir were abroad while their wives were with the deceased on the night of the incident. When her sons returned, they found gold ornaments missing from the house.
When former provincial minister ChaudhryIjaz visited their house to offer his condolences, victim’s sons informed him that the police had registered only murder instead of a dacoity–cum–murder case. They also visited the office of SDPO Zia Jafferi and demanded that a dacoity-cum-murder case should be registered. However, the SDPO assured the victim family that dacoity sections would also be included in the FIR. No such case was registered till the filing of this report.
