Rawalpindi: US national arrested, released
RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) detained a US national of Pakistani origin from Benazir Bhutto International Airport in the wee hours of Saturday, recovering arms and ammunition from his luggage, the ASF spokesman said. One, Amir Bahadur Ali, an American national, permanently hailing from Gilgit having Passport No. 402038965 was travelling to Dallas City of USA by Emirate’s flight EK-615 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport when he was intercepted by the ASF after they found 9MM pistol with 17 bullets and a magazine in his luggage while passing through the scanning machine.
He was shifted to ASF centre for further questioning, the sources said adding that the accused passenger was later allowed to proceed to USA by the same flight after intervention of higher authorities.
