Islamabad: Journalist’s stolen car burnt by protesters
ISLAMABAD: The Toyota Corolla car of a senior local journalist, Khudadad Khan, bearing registration number LOW 2449, which was stolen on September 26, was burnt by protesters at Hazro near Chach interchange. The car was stolen from the DMA Fire Brigade in Islamabad. The car–lifter, who was later identified as Bakhtiar Hussain, son of Ashiq, resident of Peshawar, stole the car on September 26 and was heading toward Peshawar after changing the number plate. When he reached near Hazro, a protest was going on by the families of three kids who were kidnapped for ransom and later murdered. The car–lifter tried to pass through the protesters, but they stopped him and gave him a severe beating. The protesters burnt the car later.
The car–lifter is in the custody of Hzzro Police at the moment. The car was identified from the chassis number later. The journalist has appealed to the law enforcement authorities to take notice of the situation and compensate him for the loss.
