Lahore: 2 arrested for running ‘business’
LAHORE: The FIA authorities on Monday arrested two accused allegedly involved in illegal business of Hawala and Hundi, as raiding team recovered Rs 2.2 millions from their possession and registered cases against them. An investigator said the FIA conducted two raids and arrested Saghir Ahmad and Tassadaq who were involved in illegal business of Hawala and Hundi by violating the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act. He said Saghir was doing business under the cover of a travel agency established in Sadiq Plaza and a team recovered Rs 1.2 million from his possession, while Tassdaq was involved in business outside the said plaza without establishing any office. The FIA registered cases against them under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1974.
