Doctor among 4 shot dead in Karachi violence
KARACHI: Four people, including a doctor, were gunned down in separate acts of violence, here on Thursday. The gunshot body of a prominent singer was found from his car on Nashter Road within the precincts of Garden police station. According to police, locals of the area informed them that the body was found in a vehicle APH–153 on Nashter Road. Police reached the scene and took it to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy, where the victim was identified as 43-year-old Qamar Allah Ditta. He had received two fatal bullets in his upper torso. He lived in Safora Goth area and was trustee of an Imambargsh in Nippier area. Javaid Allah Ditta, younger brother of victim, who himself is a singer stated that his brother was abducted and later killed. The police was investigating the case.
A policeman was gunned down at Frontier colony within the jurisdiction of Mominabad police station. SHO Nasir Mehmood said that Asim Sohail, 40, son of Rafiq, was shot dead, when he was returning home after performing duties in SITE area. His body was brought to CHK for a postmortem. He was father of four children and was lived in Orangi town.
Another man was killed at Sultanabad area within the limits of Manghopir police station. A police official said that two pillion riders opened indiscriminate fire on a motorist, resulting in the demise of victim on the spot. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico–legal formalities. The deceased was later identified as Niaz Mehsud, 27, son of Bazak Khan, resident of Sultanabad, hailing from Waziristan.
An aged man was shot dead at Nazimabad No. 2 within the limits of Nazimabad police station.
A police official said that two pillion riders opened targeted firing on him when he was returning from a mosque after offering prayers, resultantly the victim received fatal bullet injuries and died instantly. His body was brought to ASH for an autopsy, where the deceased was identified as Qadeer Hussain, 50, a doctor working at a local psychological and drug rehabilitation hospital.
