Karachi: ‘Bandits’ beaten to death by mob
KARACHI: In yet another case of vigilante justice, two suspected bandits were beaten to death with sticks and iron rods by an enraged mob in the Bangala Bazaar of Orangi Town’s Sector 15-C. According to the details, armed motorcyclists had intercepted two people in the aforementioned area and started looting their valuables at gunpoint. Locals saw the robbery taking place and overpowered the bandits. The enraged mob then decided to take the law into their own hands and stated beating the alleged robbers with sticks and iron roads. By the time the Pakistan Bazaar police reached the spot and managed to free the two men, they had been beaten to within an inch of their lives.
Both men were rushed to the Qatar Hospital, but breathed their last on the way. Their bodies were later taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
The police said that both the deceased were unidentified and seemed to be in their twenties. Two TT pistols and a motorcycle were also seized from the scene.
Meanwhile, in the Khayaban-e-Hafiz area of Defence Phase-V, gunmen intercepted the vehicle of a money changer’s cashier and looted Rs3,000,000. When the guard of the cashier tried to resist the bandits, they opened fire and left him lying in a pool of blood. The injured guard was taken to the JPMC in a critical condition.
