Karachi: Shopkeeper’s killer awarded life term
KARACHI: Additional District and Sessions Judge (West) Abdullah Channa on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to Hazrat Saeed for killing a shopkeeper in 2004. According to the prosecution, the man was committing a robbery and when the shopkeeper, Bakht Muhammad, resisted, he knifed him to death. A case was registered against the suspect at the Mominabad police station. The prosecution proved the charges and said Saeed was liable to face life term. In its judgment, the judge observed that Saeed had killed a law-abiding and innocent citizen, and imposed a fine of Rs100, 000 on him. In case of defaulting on the payment of the fine, the convict would have to face another term of six months’ imprisonment.
