4 shot dead in Quetta, Khuzdar
QUETTA: Unidentified armed men gunned down four people and injured a man in separate incidents of firing in Quetta and Khuzdar district on Sunday. Police said Muhammad Yaseen was on his way home when unidentified gunmen on motorcycle opened fire at him near Musa Colony area. He sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. Separately, armed men shot dead Rajab Khan when he resisted bid of snatching his bike on Qambarani Road near Sariab area of the provincial capital. Gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at three people when they were on way to the city at Ibrahim Khan Road area of Khuzdar district. Abdul Haroon and Nazir Qadir died on the spot while Muhammad Yousuf sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, armed bandits looted a passenger van and abducted a Hindu trader on the National Highway near Mirpur area on Sunday. Police said a Gandakha–bound passenger wagon from Jacobabad was on its way when 15 armed robbers intercepted it.
They deprived the passengers of their cash, mobile phones and other valuables. The robbers kidnapped Hindu trader Ramesh Kumar. In a raid, police arrested a drug smuggler and recovered narcotics from his possession in Sibi district. Following a tip-off, police checked a suspected vehicle and recovered 25 kg hashish from it and arrested Abdul Manan.
In a separate incident, a minor boy was kidnapped in the precincts of Pashtunabad Police Station. Unidentified men abducted seven years old boy Mohammad Naeem from the Usman Qilla vicinity of Pashtunabad.
At least five people were arrested under the foreign act in Quetta. Brewery Road police detained five people after they failed to present their legal documents.
