5 murdered in Faisalabad
FAISALABAD: Five people, including a woman, were murdered during the last 24 hours here. Munawar Ali, a resident of Chak 601/GB, Tandlianwala, opened fire at Hakeem Abdul Basit and Shahzad Ahmed over an old enmity. Basit died on the spot, while Shahzad Ahmed succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Munwar was an accused in the Phularwan murder case in which 11 people, including small kids were killed, during firing between two rival families. Muhammad Faisal of Lakshmi Chowk, Dijkot, opened fire at his cousin, Amina, and fled. She was shifted to hospital in a precarious condition, but could not survive.
Muhammad Hassan, a resident of Chak 434/GB, allegedly strangled his mother Pathani Bibi and fled. She had arranged the engagement of her daughter with a youth of the same village against the will of the accused. Meanwhile, the body of Malik Muhammad Nasir, a motorcycles show room owner of Model Town, was recovered from Chiniot. The body had been put in a bag. Nasir was allegedly shot dead by his employees Muhammad Ashraf and Haroon Ahmed five days ago over a trifle. The accused have fled.
