Rawalpindi: Street crimes infuriate people
RAWALPINDI: Citizens and traders have protested against growing incidents of kidnapping for ransom and street crimes in Pindi due to lack of security arrangements. A group of women said they could not shop comfortably as criminals continued to chase them and snatch their purses and belongings quite often. “My purse was snatched by a young boy a few days back in the presence of many people but no one came to my help,” said a lady teacher.
Meanwhile, traders have demanded stringent security system in the markets otherwise they said they will be forced to hold protest rallies.
Meanwhile, the growing number of pickpockets operating on public transport has become a serious nuisance for commuters.
According to details, pickpockets have made the lives of people miserable in Capital. Many passengers have to stand in overstuffed vans where they fall victims to pickpockets. By taking advantage of the hustle in public transport, pickpockets steal cash, purses, mobile phones and other valuable items from passengers. People have appealed to the authorities concerned to take notice of the issue and to ensure safety for passengers in public transport.
