7 Karachiites killed in different violence incidents
KARACHI: Two activists of MQM among seven were gunned down in different incidents of violence on Tuesday. A worker of MQM was gunned down here in the remits of Kharader police limits. Police said that 22-year-old Ahmed Saleem Memon, affiliated with the MQM, was sitting at Abal Chowk near his residence where gunmen riding a motorbike reached and sprayed bullets. Culprits managed to flee while victim rushed to the Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. In the similar police remits, some unidentified motorcyclists killed another MQM worker at Kamil Gali. Police said that Salman was abducted by unknown assailants couple of days ago. They brought him at Kamil Gali and shot him dead.
In another incident of target killing, a former MQM councilor was wounded while one of his friends was shot dead within the limits of Pakistan Bazzar police station. Police said gunmen sprayed bullets at a milk shop located at Mohajir Chowk, where former MQM councilor Kamran Ibrahim, Akram Din and Zia ur Rehman sustained bullets wounds who were later shifted to Qatar Hospital where Akram succumbed to injures.
In the current wave of sectarian killing, an employee of a local bank namely Jhangir Hussain, 35, was shot dead near parking plaza, Saddar, within the remits of Saddar police station.
Police said that decease was on his way to home located North Nazimabad when gunmen ridding on a motorbike targeted him. The deceased was shifted to the hospital and later his body was handed over to the family.
Meanwhile, three killed in different violent incidents here on Tuesday. Police found two gunny–packed bodies form Mewa Shah graveyard within the remits of Pak Colony police station.
The bodies of the two young men who have yet to be identified were found from Mewa Shah graveyard. Police said both the victims were killed after kidnapping, adding that some unidentified men first kidnapped the victims and shot them multiple times after torture and threw their bodies. The bodies were taken to the morgue for identification after autopsy at Civil Hospital.
In New Karachi, at least two armed men riding a motorcycle shot and killed an owner of the marriage hall at Sector 5-M within the jurisdiction of Bilal Colony police station. The deceased was identified as Shahzad, 35. Police officials said that the incident occurred when the victim offered resistance on a robbing bid. The victim went to the bakery situated near his residence where bandits shot him over resistance. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later handed over to the family after autopsy.
Meanwhile, KMC Metropolitan Commissioner, Matanat Ali Khan on Tuesday said that the problems of Katchi Abadis of the city would be resolved on priority.
He said this while paying a detailed visit to Balti Para and Bangash Muhallah situated in A.B Cina Lines.
On this occasion he was accompanied by Director Kachi Abadi Mazhar Khan and other high officials. He said that municipal problems of this area would be resolved with mutual cooperation of the residents.
Balti Para and Bangash Muhallah were the old Kachi Abadis of the city and municipal works of this area including repairs of broken roads, cleaning work, lifting garbage, fumigation spray for the removal of malaria and dengue, availability and repairs of street lights, would be done in a better way.
The Metropolitan Commissioner said that CC flooring for carpeting of the streets would also be done.
