Sargodha: SIMs through forgery 6 cellular company employees arrested
SARGODHA: Sajid Shaheed police claim to have arrested six employees of a cellular company for facilitating people in getting SIMs on bogus documentation. The police said they raided the company regional office on Stadium Road and arrested Khurram Mehdi Awan, Rizwanul Haq Ansari, Imran Sheikh, Imran Sadiq Masih, Faisal Sultan Awan and Hamza Javed Kamboh. They recovered 500 SIMs sold on bogus documents, Rs350,000 in cash and fake record. Investigations are on to find out from where the employees got the documents showing identity and addresses of citizen of Sargodha.
The police registered a case under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Electronics Transaction Ordinance. A number of subscribers had been complaining against maladministration at the company regional office which was transferring activated numbers to any person of their choice without serving any notice or giving any intimation to the subscriber concerned.
