Sheikhupura: 5 POs arrested
SHEIKHUPURA: The police have arrested five proclaimed offenders and recovered weapons, contrabands and liquor from their possession here the other day. ASP Ferozewala Zahid Marwat formed a police team consisting of the Sharqpur Police SHO, Factory Area Police SHO and SHO Ferozewala to arrest the culprits and POs. The police conducted raids at various areas in the district and arrested five notorious POs namely Shadat alias Shadati gangs from village Kot Natho Ferozewala and Hanif alias Hanifa gang members from village Nooray De Ghugian.
The police also recovered 2 drums of wine, 2.50-kg of hashish and weapons from their procession.
DPO Rana Absul Jabbar while talking to this scribe said that some influential (harbors) were involved in providing shelter to the criminals.
He said that the police would take a strict action against all such people.
Trimming of green belt grass demanded: The traders community of stadium shopping centre demanded TMA Administrator Kiran Khurshid to direct the TMA staffers for cutting of green belt grass which had been ignored for the last two month.
They were of the view that it greet belt could become a breeding ground for dengue. The traders claimed that they had contacted Horticulture Supervisor Nazar several times but he flatly refused. They quoted Nazar as saying that all the grass cutting machines had been out of order for the last several months despite repeatedly bringing the matter into the notice of the high ups.
