Lahore: Killer of wife arrested after 1 year
LAHORE: The Crimes Investigations Agency (CIA) has arrested a man who had shot dead his wife one year ago in the Naulakha police precincts and fled away. Police sources said that a team of CIA Ghaziabad had arrested the proclaimed offender Aun Sajjad who had gunned down his wife, Tahira Bibi, in the main bazaar in broad daylight. The killer had divorced his wife but later shot her dead. The deceased woman had left her house after she came to know that her husband and his brother were criminals and wanted to the police in several cases.
Also, a 24-year-old-man was crushed to death under a train in the KotLakhpat area, police said on Sunday. The youth, unidentified so far, was crossing the railway line when the Okara–bound train hit him, resulting in his on-the-spot death. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating.
Meanwhile, three people were recovered dead from different parts of the City on Sunday. Police sources said that all the three men were found dead from the precincts of the Lorry Adda police.
Police investigators suspected that unidentified swindlers poisoned them to death. The police have removed the dead bodies to the morgue and are investigating.
Also, three children were seriously wounded when a gas–cylinder kept in a handcart exploded with a bang outside a marriage hall in the Shadbagh area, police said on Sunday night.
