Lakki Marwat: Police arrest 3 cattle smugglers
LAKKI MARWAT: Police claimed to have arrested three cattle smugglers while foiling a bid to illegally transport quadrupeds to the tribal areas. “A police party of Serai Gambila post headed by ASI Ghulam Muhammad stopped a truck (BUB–8784) near Pasani village on a road leading to the frontier tribal region”, said an official on Monday. He said that nine buffalos loaded in truck were being taken to tribal region in violation of ban imposed by district administration on cattle transportation from the limits of district. He said that law enforcers impounded truck and seized buffalos. “They also arrested three cattle smugglers identified as Atta Muhammad, a resident of Mianwali and Wakil Khan and Manzoor Zaman, the residents of Bannu and registered a case against them under relevant section of law in Tajori police station”, he added.
Meanwhile, police launched a crackdown on anti–social elements and arrested 15 persons including notorious proclaimed offenders during last 48 hours.
“Following the directives of DPO Muhammad Idress Khan, several police parties assisted by personnel of Elite Force and Anti Terror Squad raided over the hideouts of criminals’ gangs in different parts of the district”, said an official on Monday.
He said that police eliminated the sanctuaries of anti state elements and arrested eight dreaded outlaws who were wanted by Lakki and Bannu police in murder, attempted murder and other cases of heinous nature.
He told that the law enforcers also arrested seven suspects during the special offensive and shifted them to police stations.
He maintained that police seized 5 klashankovs, a rifle, 4 shotguns, 7 pistols, 392 bullets and 870 grams hashish from anti social elements and registered cases against them.
