Rawalpindi: 3 injured in robbery
RAWALPINDI: A four–member gang of robbers escaped with the loot after injuring a policeman, a passer-by and a travel agency employee in Saddar. The gang came to an air travel agency located at Punch House Saddar and held its manager Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and employees at gunpoint. The gunmen made off Saudi Riyals 1300 after beating and injuring manager Mujeeb–ur–Rehman before fleeing from the scene. Constable Arslan Yousuf tried to intercept them but he was shot and injured by the fleeing robbers. Sub-inspector Shafqat Ali, returning from Katchury in his police van, sent injured constable Arslan sent to hospital in his police van, and himself tried to chase the robbers by taking lift from a motorcyclist.
But he had to give up the chase after gunmen opened fire on them. As a result of which the motorbike owner received bullet in his leg. However, the gunman succeeded in disappearing in Dhoke Charaghdeen area.
