Lahore: 2 accused sentenced to life
LAHORE: An additional district and sessions court on Tuesday sentenced to persons to life imprisonment on charges of murdering a man. The court has also directed the convicts, Muhammad Hanif and Muhammad Ali, to pay Rs 200,000 each as compensation to the deceased’s heirs. In case of default on the fine payment, the convicts will have to undergo for further six months imprisonment. According to the case, they had killed one Manzoor Ahmed on May 8, 1999 over a property issue. Later, police had registered a case against them on the complaint of the deceased’s brother.
The complainant said that both persons had held grudge against his brother as he (his brother) had purchased the property which they wanted to grab. On Tuesday, the judge after hearing final arguments from both sides awarded life imprisonment to the two accused.
