4 gunned down in Karachi violence in last 24 hours
KARACHI: At least four persons, including a policeman and a Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) inspector, were killed during the last 24 hours in the ongoing violence in the metropolis, SAMAA reports Thursday. According to police sources, some unidentified miscreants shot dead the KMC inspector in Shadman Town of North Karachi. He was identified as ShafqatNasir. Another man Ali Raza was gunned down in Qasba Colony–2.5 while he was sitting in his shop of spare parts. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
A body with torture marks was found near Purani Sabzi Mandi (Old Vegetable Market) of the city. The victim was identified as Bahadur.
Meantime, police brought to the fore the arrest of Amir Hafiz Qasim Rashid alias Ganja of an outlawed organization. Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh police claimed the saboteur is involved in over 30 assassinations including doctors and lawyers in the city. But, Rashid says he does not know exactly the number of people he killed.
Police claimed the arrested criminal and his accessories readied plans to attack personalities hailing from media, politics as well as police officers.
