Lahore: Bank guard arrested with Rs 1.83 million
LAHORE: City police on Thursday claimed to have arrested the security guard, who had fled away after snatching Rs 25 million from the cash van outside a bank at Jail Road about one and half months ago. However, the police have recovered Rs 1.83 millions from the security guard, already identified as Sher Muhammad Wahga. According to a press release, on August 1, 2012, the security gaud of Askari Guards Company had escaped after collecting Rs 25 millions from the cash van shortly after his fellows entered the bank.
The cash van had reached the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branch located at Jail Road to deposit the cash after collecting it from various other banks branches. Police sources said that the investigators raided at the residence of a close relative of the guard and arrested him. Further investigations are underway.
