Faisalabad: 7 held for stealing oil from Parco pipeline
FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Police have smashed a gang of thieves for stealing oil from the main Parco pipeline by digging a tunnel in a house adjoining a hotel. The police arrested seven thieves, including two brothers, and owners of a filling station, who admitted to stealing oil worth Rs1,500 million. Ringleader of the gang Engineer Saleem, managed to escape. On a tip-off, the Nishatabad Police conducted a raid at Randhawa Chowk, Sargodha Road, on Monday and found the accused stealing oil from the Parco’s main line through scientific means.
The accused had acquired a house adjoining their hotel and were busy in pilfering oil. The arrested accused include Mehboob Elahi, Tausif Elahi, Zafar Ali, Nazir Ahmed, Muhammad Hayat, Asghar Ali, Faisal Rasool and Rana Muhammad Ali. Inspector Akhtar Ali told The News that the accused had been stealing oil since long and selling it to a petrol station at the Lahore Road.
