Karachi: CID police claim nabbing 2 suspects, recovering arms
KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh police on Monday claimed to have apprehended two suspects from Surjani area here on Monday. One arrested accused had bounty of one million over his arrest. According to CID official, on a tip-off about notorious criminals in Surjani area, CID police conducted a raid and apprehended two accused, including Ashiq alias Kashi son of Ghulam Shabbir, and Muhammad Amir alias Bandar, son of Muhammad Shafi, after a brief encounter and recovered three hand grenades, three pistols and a Kalashnikov from their possession.
SSP CID Fayyaz Khan elaborated that Ashiq and his accomplice were implicated in over 100 cases of bank robberies, kidnapping for ransom, killings, dacoities and other heinous crimes in Karachi and Punjab.
He said accused Ashiq said that he along with other accomplices, Riaz Niazi, AmanUllah and Hammed robbed a bank in Dera Ghazi Khan and looted Rs 5 million.
He informed that arrested accused Ashiq had bounty of one million rupees over his arrest, adding that the names of both arrested accused were also mentioned in the most wanted criminals in Punjab. He said that they revealed that they had a group of 12 men. Further investigation was under way.
