Muzaffargarh: Suspicion of wife’s illicit relations; 13-month-old girl buried alive by father
MUZAFFARGARH: A 13-month-old girl was buried alive by her father at Chowk Sarwar Shaheed here on Sunday night. Imtiaz Goraya, a resident of Chak 132/ML, dug a grave and buried his 13–month-old daughter Abeera alive after a quarrel with his wife. Imtiaz was suspicious that his wife had illicit relations with a man. After getting information, the police reached the place, took the body in their custody and shifted it to hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused after registering a case.
SHO Arshad Khan told The News that Imtiaz had accused his wife of having illicit ties with a man during a quarrel. He added that later he took the infant to a deserted place at 3am and buried her alive. He said that they had exhumed the body and the autopsy was performed in the presence of a magistrate at a hospital in Kot Addu. Locals said that Imtiaz was a psycho and used to quarrel with his wife over trifles. They said that his wife had sought their help after the accused disappeared with the infant, but he informed his wife on phone that he had killed the girl. Meanwhile, the incident has raised ire among the locals who have demanded a stern action against the culprit.
