Islamabad: Man held for benefitting from his daughter’s marriages
ISLAMABAD: The police have arrested a man on the complaint of his daughter, who alleged that her father was depriving people of millions of rupees after marrying her with them. The Secretariat Police registered the case on the order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the accused under section 406 PPC, when a young woman knocked at the door of the apex court to seek justice against her father, who deprived the people of million of rupees for marrying her with them, police said.
One, Shagufta Shaheen, submitted an application with the office of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, to seek justice against her father Laaj Bar Ali, saying that her father married her with a rich man, Sheraz in 2001 when she was 12-year-old, against heavy amount with 50 tolas of gold ornaments and a big house as ‘haqmehar’ and her parents occupied the house and gold ornaments.
In the meantime, her parents started provoking her against her husband saying that his first wife would kill her. Consequently, she left her husband’s house and came to her parents. Taking advantage of the conflict developed between them, her parents managed to file ‘khulla’ in the court of law and after the decision of the case, her parents filed an appeal in the apex court to get the big house given by her ex-husband in ‘haqmehar’. The SC, after hearing the case, asked her ex-husband to pay three million rupees against the house and asked her father to open an account in a bank housing in the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court Building and finally, her ex-husband transferred the amount in her father’s account as her entrust.
But soon after the transfer of money, her parents started torturing her to release the money in their favour but she refused to do so.
In the meantime, her parents decided to marry her with one, Mohammad Amar, after getting huge amount from him but she managed to escape from the trap of her parents and approached a court in Murdan and the court sent her to the Darul Amaan, where she lived for two months and later got married with one, Waseem Khan, resident of Mohallah Awan Jahangira, Tehsil Chota Lahore, Sawabi, on April 21, 2012.
The Supreme Court, straightaway, ordered to register FIR against her father. The Secretariat police arrested the accused after lodging FIR against the accused.
