Karachi: Nigerian woman caught with 2.3kgs of heroin
KARACHI: Personnel of Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell, Karachi Airport Unit, on Wednesday recovered 2.3 kilogrammes of heroin from a Nigerian lpassenger’s suitcase. Qamar Thalho of Pakistan Custom said customs staff intercepted a female Nigerian passenger at the International Departure Lounge of the Jinnah International Airport when she was about to board Lagos bound Eithad Airlines via Abu Dhabi.
The suspected passenger was travelling on an emergency travel certificate that was not found satisfactory by the Customs. When her baggage was examined, the officials found heroin powder soaked in cotton fillings of cushions and hidden in sealed cavities of the baggage. A case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, has been registered against her.
