LAHORE: A man stabbed his wife and her two other female relatives over domestic dispute in the Mustafabad police area late on Monday night and fled away. Police said on Tuesday that Zahoor Shah had been arrested for stabbing three women and he was being interrogated in connection with the criminal assault. Shah attacked his wife Saba Bibi and her mother and grandmother at their residence located in the Mustafabad area and fled away.
CHARSADDA: Four people were killed in separate incidents here on Tuesday. A trader, Shamshad Khan, was killed when a three-wheeler turned upside-down in Shabqadar. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed. In another incident, an elderly man was hit by a vehicle at Batgram area and succumbed to his injuries. The TMA staff laid him to rest as his identity was not confirmed.
PAKPATTAN: A woman professor was shot dead by dacoits here on Tuesday. Professor of Government College for Women Ms Samra Saeed and her husband Khalid Ameen were coming on a bike when five dacoits stopped them near Chak Alwardi and on resistance they shot Samra dead.
MARDAN: A man was killed allegedly by his cousins over a domestic dispute in Zareenabad area here on Tuesday. Officials of Chora police station said the two accused, identified as Irfan and his brother Ibrar, slit the throat of their cousin Tariq with a sharp weapon after exchanging harsh words with each other over a domestic issue. The victim died instantly. The accused escaped the area.
PESHAWAR: One person was killed and two were wounded in a firing incident in Wakho Pul on Tuesday. An official of the Bhanamari Police Station said one Ishrat Hussain reportedly hit a child of Mohammad Shah’s family while driving his pick-up on Monday. The family of the kid later approached Ishrat with a complaint. The two families exchanged harsh words but later a jirga temporarily settled the issue.
RAHIM YAR KHAN: The police recovered two persons who were kidnapped for Rs4 million ransom. A kidnapper was found dead when the police raided the hideout while nine other kidnappers succeeded in fleeing the scene, said DPO Sohail Zafar Chattha while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
SUKKUR: The prime suspect of an armed attack on a Pakistan People’s Party rally in Khairpur — which claimed the lives of seven people — was on Tuesday killed in a mysterious encounter between police and his suspected accomplices, who allegedly stormed a police station to spring him.
LAHORE: Dacoits plundered cash and valuables worth Rs2.2 million during three house robberies in the city on Tuesday. Four robbers barged into the house of Makhdoom Liaquat in Kot Lakhpat police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs900,000.
SUKKUR: Five people from the Mugheri community were booked by the Jacobabad police for their alleged involvement in the killing of a labourer named Shaman Ali Rahujo because of a tribal dispute incited by a free-will marriage. The case was registered in Saddar police station on Tuesday night by Shaman’s uncle, Muhammad Salah Rahujo. Those nominated in the FIR include Abdullah Mugheri, Jam Mugheri and Salahoo Mugheri.
RAWALPINDI: The employee of a private clinic was gunned down on resistance by armed men during a robbery at Sadiqabad here on Tuesday, the police spokesman said. Two gunmen entered into the Al-Shifa Clinic along Farooq-e-Azam Road and held Dr. Ayyaz, dispenser Mohammad Nawaz and patients at gunpoint, police said adding that they snatched cash and mobile phone from Dr. Ayyaz and cash bag from the dispenser.
