2 more bodies recovered as Karachi violence goes on
KARACHI: Firing incidents continued in the city on Thursday, claiming lives of six more people in different areas, SAMAA reported. Police said two dead bodies were recovered from Ram Swami area this morning, adding that the men were killed by gunshots. Three people were shot dead overnight when unknown armed men, riding a motorbike, targeted them in Karachi’s Ladhi area, police said. The victims were identified as Abid, Saleem and Sajid. A policeman, who was injured in a firing incident on Oct 25 in Baldia town, breathed his last during the treatment on Thursday.
207 dead in October
At least 207 people were deprived of their lives during the month of October with over 400 cars snatched or stolen. The October’s violence claimed the lives of at least 24 political activists and 13 police personnel as well as six sectarian killings were witnessed in the months.
Those killed this month include ten operatives of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), four of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), nine of Awami National Party (ANP) and a worker of MQM–Haqiqi. Another 12 people sustained injuries in cracker attacks street crimes, bank robberies and kidnapping for ransom. Over 1900 motorcycles were snatched or stolen during October.
