Bahawalnagar: 2 sisters fall victim to acid throwing
BAHAWALNAGAR: Two sisters fell victim to acid throwing attack by rivals over old enmity here in the remit Ghumand Pur Police the other night. However, luckily faces of both the girls remained safe in the attack and they only sustained burns on the body. According to details, Rabia and Yasmin, daughters of ShabirBaloch were in their house situated in Basti Usman Khera when four accused including Sajid, a resident of Nazir Colony, a woman namely Safia w/o Jahangir, a resident of Nazir Colony along with two unidentified culprits entered the house. They sprinkled acid on the girls and fled away. Both the girls sustained severe burns and were taken to DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar. Later both the sisters were shifted to Civil Hospital Minchinabad for medico–legal formalities. Neither any case could be registered nor could arrest be made despite a lapse of 16 hours of the incident, till the filing of this report. However, the police said they were searching for the accused.
Meanwhile, two persons were killed while two other injured when a jeep plunged into sewage pond here. As per reports, five on board a jeep were returning home from a liquor and dance party. Reportedly, the driver and his companions were under the influence of liquor due to which he lost control of the jeep. Resultantly it plunged into sewage pond near Makkah Town Bahawalnagar. Two persons Naseer, a resident of Haveli Lakha and Bashir, a resident of Chak Matran Bahawalnagar died on the spot while Riaz and Falak Sher sustained injuries. The City “A” Division Police and Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and pulled out the jeep from the pond.
