Islamabad: 2 accused in blind murder case arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested two persons, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in a blind murder case and recovered the murder tool from their possession, the police spokesman said on Thursday. A Pakistan Navy driver, namely Muhammad Asif, was murdered by unidentified assailants on October 12. After the area police failed to make headway to the criminals, police authorities asked SP (Sadar Zone) to ensure arrest of assassins at the earliest. The SP constituted a special team. The team, finally, traced the people allegedly involved in the killing of the Pakistan Navy driver and arrested two persons — Sikandar Ali and the wife of the victim, Muhammad Asif.
During investigation, the woman (wife of deceased Muhammad Asif) confessed that she, with the help of Sikandar Ali, killed her husband. Police have also recovered the murder tool from their possession.
Meanwhile, the Sihala Police team arrested two culprits identified as Muhammad Zubair, son of Muhammad Niaz, and Khurram Shahzad, son of Muhammad Liaquat, hailing from Rawalpindi after recovery of three motorcycles from their possession. The arrested men confessed to stealing motorbikes from various localities of Islamabad and Punjab. Further investigation is underway.
