Karachi police, public kill 5 robbers in encounters
KARACHI: Police and public have killed five robbers in separate encounters in Karachi, SAMAA reports. According to details, police have claimed that three robbers were killed during an encounter at Boat Basin area and weapons and snatched goods were recovered from their custody. Two more persons were killed by local people in north Nazimabad area of the metropolitan. The police have claimed that they were robbers while heirs of the killed persons have claimed that they both were innocents. Two armed robbers were caught and shot dead by the local people while they were busy in robbing the public. Both were robbers and killed by the public, said police.
Later on, the police changed its claim about killed robbers and admitted that they were butchers and came there to collect payment but turned victims of firing.
A large number of family members of the killed persons, attacked the police station and damaged the police vehicle and building to express anger over killings of innocent relatives.
At the other side, police encountered six armed robbers while they were robbing motorists on two motor–bikes in Shirin Jinnah Colony near Boat Basin area.
When police interrupted the robbers, they opened fire and three robbers were killed in counter firing of the police while there three accomplices fled away during exchange of fire.
Two motor–bikes, three pistols, two lap tops, snatched cash and seven mobile phones were recovered from the killed robbers’ custody, informed the police after encounter.
