Faisalabad: 11 arrested for smuggling birds to UAE
FAISALABAD: Eleven persons were arrested at Faisalabad Airport on the charges of trying to smuggle 300 exotic birds worth millions of rupees to UAE on Sunday. Those arrested include Nazir Ahmad of Dera Ghazi Khan, Saeed Ahmad of Karachi and Muhammad Ramzan of Dera Ismail Khan. The birds include hawks and pigeons. The airport authorities handed over the accused to Thikriwala police. During preliminary investigation, the accused told police that they wanted to sell the birds to royal families of UAE and other Arab states.
