Lahore: Dacoits hit 19 times
LAHORE: Dacoits on Friday struck the provincial capital for more than 19 times, robbed nine houses, looted families and motorists, and fled away after collecting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs3million. As per details, armed bandits barged into the house of Abdullah in Badami Bagh police precincts and escaped after snatching cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs600,000 at gunpoint. Four gunmen stormed into the house of Arslan in Township police vicinity and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs500,000 after holding the inmates’ hostage at gunpoint.
Robbers forced their entry into the residence of Mian Tajammal in Qila Gujjar Singh police area, held up the family members at gunpoint, and snatched away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs500,000.
In other house robberies, which took place in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Garhi Shahu, Kahna, Islampura, Millat Park and Naseerabad police areas, armed bandits took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs2 million.
Two motorcyclists equipped with pistols held up Shabbir and his family at gunpoint in the limits of Kot Lakhpat police. The couple was deprived of cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs100,000.
Robbers also looted three other families in Wahdat Colony, Gowalmandi and Ichhra police areas, and snatched away cash and valuables worth Rs200,000. Meanwhile, three cars were driven away from Defence, Shahdara, and Garden Town police areas; while four motorcycles were either snatched or stolen away from Sanda, Shafiqabad, SatuKatla and Samanabad police limits.
