7 gang rapes in Rawal Town Zone in 10 months
RAWALPINDI: The Rawal Town Zone of the Rawalpindi Police registered seven cases of gang rape, two kidnapping for ransom during last 10 months, and the 10–month crime statistics said. As many as 153 women were abducted from different areas of the zone. The report said that as many as 427 motorcycles and 279 cars were stolen, while 8 cars and 5 motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint during this period. As many as 37 murders and 120 murder attempt cases were reported, while 28 people were killed in road accidents during last 10 months, the report said. A total of 528 cases of robbery, theft and other street crimes were also recorded. Three police encounters occurred in Taxila, Morgah and Chauntra. A total of 5,457 cases were registered during last 10 months.
