4 more people shot dead in Quetta
QUETTA: In a fresh wave of target killings, four persons were killed and two others wounded on the Spinny Road here on Tuesday. Police said that unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle attacked a car, in which five persons were traveling from Quetta city to Hazara Town. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire from automatic weapons and killed three persons instantly. The unknown attackers opened fire with modern weapons on the vehicle as it approached them at around 5:10pm and fled from the scene leaving behind the deceased in a pool of blood.
The deceased were identified as; Muhammad Zaman, Rehmat and Essa Jan. The injured included Hussain Ali and Muhammad Ali. Earlier, the injured were shifted to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and later they were shifted to the CMH for medical treatment. The people belonging to the Hazara community thronged the hospital and protested against the killings.
As the news of the target killings spread in Brewery and Hazara Town, some angry protesters opened fire in the air. They burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the government.
Police said that Shaista Khan was injured seriously when angry protesters opened fire with modern weapons. The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment. But, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Later, the relatives and family members protested against the killing of Shaista Khan.
The Hazara Democratic Party has strongly condemned killings of three persons and held the provincial government responsible for the killings.
