Robbers strike Pindi twice
RAWALPINDI: Unknown robbers have plundered cash including 2000 Norwegian krone (NOK) and gold to the tune of million of rupees in two different strikes in the city here on Tuesday. The two daring house robbery incidents, that too in broad daylight, not only swelled a wave of panic and insecurity among the residents but also exposed the poor performance of Rawalpindi police. According to sources, three robbers loaded with sophisticated weapons stormed into a house located at Street Number 9, Sector II of Airport Housing Society, at 4:45pm and made the entire family members hostage at gunpoint.
Later, the robbers mugged 2000 Norwegian krone (NOK) and snatched gold jewellery weighing 22 tolas from the ladies present at home and run away. In the other house robbery incident, five robbers entered in a house at Qayyumabad, the area of PS Sadiqabad, and made off with 11 tolas of gols and 700,000 cash.
According to police, five robbers came in house of Ghulam Shabbir at 6:00pm on Monday and pointed guns on the family members. Later, the robbers collected 700,000 cash and 11 tolas of gold and fled. Police, on the complaint of victim, lodged a case and started investigation.
