Khairpur: 15 get capital sentence in kidnapping case
KHAIRPUR: Anti–Terrorism Court (ATC) Khairpur gave capital sentence to 15 accused in a kidnapping for ransom case on Wednesday. Special Judge ATC Syed Saeed Hassan awarded life imprisonment to 15 accused including Nooral alias Nooro Jatoi, Sadoro Karrio, Imamuddin alias Imo Narejo, MominKarrio, Muhammad Ayub Karrio Gull Hassan Junejo, Noorullah Junejo, Ghulam Sarwar Narejo, Tasleem Narejo, Dodo Jiskani, Hameed Jatoi, Juman Gadehi, Hakim Khoso and Khadim Narejo.
They were accused of attacking village Mehar Ali Ujjan in the jurisdiction of Abdul Rehman Unnar Police Station and kidnapped for ransom two villagers, Nisar Ali and Abid Ali Abbasi.
The accused including Imamuddin, Muhammad Ayub, Sadooro Karrio and Nooro Jatoi were arrested by police while remaining accused still absconding. The court proceeding were held inside the Sukkur Jail -1. The court also ordered seizing the property of all accused.
Meanwhile, a man killed his wife over a family dispute at village Saajan Phanhiyar. Tanvir opened fire on his wife Waheeda, killing her on the spot. The cause of the murder is said to be some petty issues. The accused, however, managed to flee from the scene.
Being informed, the police reached on the spot, took the body into custody and later hand over to the heirs after autopsy from taluka hospital.
In another incident, a boy was crushed to death near Sobhodero. According to details, 6–year–old Waheed was crossing a road when a jeep ran over him, killing him on the spot.
On the other hand, Khairpur police have claimed of arresting 11 notorious dacoits, nine proclaimed offenders and 46 absconders during the month of October–2012. In an activity report for the month of October –2012, SSP Khairpur Irfan Mukhtiar said that police raided at various places and recovered 5 KK, 4 shot guns, 1 rifle,15 pistols, 7 cartridges, 87 rounds, 4 kilogramme and 260 grams of chars, 21 bottle of alcohols and 4 kilogramme of drugs of other nature during October.
The SSP informed that two notorious criminals were also killed in encounter with police. He said that law and order situation is under control.
