Peshawar: Inspector, 5 cops held for taking bribe
PESHAWAR: The Anti–Corruption Department arrested an inspector and five cops of the Excise and Taxation Police for allegedly taking bribe from truckers on the Ring Road. An official of the Anti-Corruption Department said Inspector Shahzad, the in-charge of P-9 patrolling car, and five others were held when they were collecting Rs2,000 each from truckers. The official said the money was also recovered and a case registered against the cops. There are complaints that Peshawar Police, Customs and other forces are openly collecting money from truckers and other motorists on Ring Road, G T Road and other routes. Thousands of people, especially truckers, are being deprived of money by the officials every day.
