Karachi: ‘Lyari gang war criminal’ among 2 killed
KARACHI: Two people, including an alleged Lyari gang war criminal, were shot dead in different parts of the city on Thursday. Samiullah Baloch, 35, was gunned down, when unidentified men, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on him near Shanti Nagar, situated in former Dalmia Cement Factory in the Aziz Bhatti police jurisdiction. Area people, after hearing gun shots, came out of their houses and saw the body lying in a pool of blood. The police took the body to JPMC for a post–mortem. According to the police, the victim was criminal of Lyari gang war and was wanted in number of robberies, extortion and killing cases.
The police suspected that his colleagues killed him over a dispute on extortion money. Meanwhile, Sikander, 22, was killed after an altercation with his friends, who shot him near Gulshan-e-Sikander, Kemari, in the Jackson police limits. According to the police, Sikander went fishing with his friend, Imran, at the Native Jetti Bridge.
Later, other friends, Ibrahim, Tahir and Cheema joined them. After a dispute with the victim, they shot him and managed to escape. Then, Imran informed Sikander’s family about the incident, who reached the crime spot and saw the body in a pool of blood. The family informed the police, who shifted the body to Civil Hospital for legal formalities.
The police said that victim was a private security guard and father of a girl. SHO Jackson said that the accused were involved in land grabbing and drug businesses in the city.
