Karachi: Man kills ‘robber in self-defence’
KARACHI: A car driver shot a robber in the head, killing him on spot, for allegedly trying to steal his valuables at a traffic signal near Shershah Bridge in the SITE area on Friday. According to an Edhi volunteer, a bulky man later identified as Nazeer Mohammad, was harassing people at the traffic signal. He said that the robber stopped the car driver and asked him to hand over his wallet and mobile, to which the man resisted and took out a gun. “He fired one shot and it hit Mohammad right in the head,” said the volunteer.
Mohammad’s body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, shifting the body to the mortuary. In the meantime, police could not find the car driver to get his statement about what actually transpired. They added that Mohammad was a resident of Kalakot.
