Kasur: Murder of boy after sodomy in Khudian; Demo against police for releasing accused
KASUR: Villagers and relatives of a boy who was murdered after sodomy five months ago staged a demonstration against the Khudian police for releasing the accused here on Friday. About 500 protesters led by Farmaish Ali blocked Kasur–Depalpur Road by burning tyres and chanted slogans against the police. They said that four accused had sexually assaulted 10-year-old Shakeel Ahmed and later killed him on July 15. They said that the police arrested Fida Hussain, Muhammad Tariq, Basharat Ali and Muhammad Ashraf after registering a case (274/12) against them under sections 302 and 34 of the PPC. They said the Khudian police released all the accused a couple of days ago allegedly after receiving bribe.
DPO Syed Khurram Ali and MNA Malik Rasheed Ahmed reached the spot and assured the protesters that the accused would arrested again. Later, the protesters dispersed. Meanwhile, the DPO suspended SI Abdul Rehman and three constables besides ordering an inquiry against them. He constituted a team to re-arrest the accused.
