Karachi: 2 policemen injured in hand grenade attack on picket near Al-Asif Square
KARACHI: At least two policemen sustained injuries in hand grenade attack on a police picket near Al–Asif Square in Karachi, SAMAA reports. According to initial reports, some unidentified attackers, riding on motorbikes, hurled hand grenades at police picket near Al–Asif Square and fled away. Two policemen, present in the picket, sustained injuries and the police post destroyed completely. The rescue teams rushed to the attack site and moved injured policemen to Patel Hospital. Heavy contingents of police and rangers rushed to the scene and cordoned off surrounding area.
The injured policemen have been identified as Head Constable Altaf and Constable Mukhtar. Other policemen posted at this picket remained save as they were outside at time of attack. At the other side, six culprits have been arrested during a targeted operation by police and rangers in Dalmia area of teh metropolis.
