6 bike-snatchers held in Jhang
JHANG: The police claimed to have arrested six bike–snatchers and recovered seven motorcycles from them. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, DPO Akhtar Umar Hayat Laleka said that following complaints regarding dacoities and motorcycle–snatching, City DSP Anjum Kamal was directed to immediately arrest the outlaws depriving people of their money and vehicles. He disclosed that the police arrested Ashiq Bilal, Sheikh Mubashir, Nau Bihar, Muhammad Saqlain, Rab Nawaz and Muhammad Rafiq who confessed to 22 incidents of bike–snatching.
He claimed that the police had also recovered seven motorcycles, four pistols and one riffle from them. About a change in the name of the historical gate on the route of the 7th Muharram procession, the DPO said that the name had been changed by the TMA with the consensus of both the sects.
